THE EIGHT STEPS

DASHBOARD TO PUBLISHED

01 OPEN TRIP REPORTS IN YOUR DASHBOARD

Log in to your WordPress dashboard and find Trip Reports in the left-hand menu.

▸ All Trip Reports — view or edit published reports
▸ Add New Trip Report — start a new one
Click Add New Trip Report to open a blank report.

02 WRITE YOUR TITLE — INCLUDE A LOCATION

Always include a geo term — the town, river, or body of water you fished: “Jackson Hole” or “Florida Keys” right in the title.

WHY IT MATTERS: the location in your title helps Google understand what and where you’re writing about — which helps your report show up in local searches.

03 ADD YOUR HERO PHOTO

The large image at the top of the report page.
▸ Click Add Image
▸ Select a photo from your media library, or upload a new one

TIP: use a horizontal (landscape) image if possible — it fills the space much better than a vertical shot.

04 WRITE THE REPORT

Write it however you’d tell it — what you fished, where, conditions, what was biting. Type it directly or paste in text you’ve written elsewhere.

05 ADD YOUR BOOKING LINK (CTA)

The button that turns readers into clients.
▸ If you have online booking: paste your booking link
▸ If you don’t: link to your contact page instead

06 BUILD YOUR PHOTO GALLERY

Add any additional photos from the trip.
▸ Click into the gallery
▸ Select images from your media library, or
▸ Click Upload Files and drag and drop new photos

07 SET THE FEATURED IMAGE

The thumbnail that appears on your trip reports listing page — it’s what people see and click on to open the report.

DON’T SKIP IT — without a featured image, your report will show up on the listing page without a photo.

08 PUBLISH AND PREVIEW

The thumbnail that appears on your trip reports listing page — it’s what people see and click on to open the report.
